The John Deere trademark has seen many iterations over the years. For many years (starting in 1876) it featured a black and white logo featuring a running deer. Variations of that logo have appeared. In 2000, the trademark was once again updated and this time it featured a ‘leaping deer’ and the companies classic green and yellow colors.
There are few color schemes that are as distinctive as John Deere. The green color is a large part of brand’s identity since it allows people to easily tell what kind of farm equipment is being used. If it is a green tractor, it is a John Deere and there isn’t any question about it.
Their marketing crew uses the word “green” in many other initiatives such as “Green Fever” sales events, “Drive Green” events and even their “GreenFleet” Loyalty rewards program.
